Cookies Filenilla sets
Filenilla does not set its own cookies. The guides, the troubleshooter, and the contact page do not store a cookie in your browser. There are no analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or marketing cookies.
There is no cookie banner. A banner is used to ask permission for optional cookies. This site does not use those cookies, so it does not ask you to accept or dismiss them.
Browser storage
The site does not use local storage or session storage to remember you, to measure visits, or to keep form entries. Nothing is written there for a later visit.
The troubleshooter
The interactive diagnostic runs in the page you have open. It uses the protocol and problem you select only to show suggested checks. Those choices stay on the screen while the page is open. They are not saved in a cookie or in browser storage, and they are not sent to Filenilla. The tool does not test a connection.
The contact form
When you choose Send, the form submits your name, email address, topic, and message to the server. If JavaScript is available, it also sends the time the form was shown, so an instant automated submission can be rejected. That value is part of the submission. It is not stored as a cookie or in browser storage.
The server may keep a short record of recent submission times from the same network connection, for about an hour, so the form cannot be sent repeatedly. The record stays on the server and does not contain the message text. It is not a cookie, because it is not placed on your device. The same practice is described in the privacy policy.
What the host may process
The hosting provider may process technical connection data in ordinary server logs, such as an IP address, the date, the page requested, and the browser. Those logs help operate and protect the site. Filenilla does not use them for advertising. How long the host keeps them is the host’s own practice, as described in the privacy policy.
What Filenilla does not use
- Analytics or measurement cookies.
- Advertising, retargeting, or marketing cookies.
- Social-media plugins that would set their own cookies.
- A third-party CAPTCHA.
- Third-party scripts for analytics or advertising.
Your browser
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Doing so should not remove access to the guides or the contact form, because Filenilla’s pages do not depend on a cookie. A hosting company, a network, or a browser extension can still set cookies of its own. Those are outside Filenilla’s control, and this policy does not describe them.
